		<description>You bring up a very good point Mark.  Sometimes we can assume that Scripture memory is an end in itself.  But the Bible tells us that the seeds on good soil are the ones that &quot;hear the word and receive it or hold it fast.&quot;  I think of the verse from 2 Tim. 3:14-15, &quot;But as for you, continue in what you have learned knowing from whom you have learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings which are able to make you wise through faith in Christ Jesus.&quot;  That&#039;s what I desire for my kids.  That from day one they would be &quot;acquainted with the Word of God&quot; as we teach them both in formal and informal situations (Deut. 6:5-8), realizing that God is the only One who can bring them to faith in Christ.</description>
