Missy, I'm so glad you're enjoying the book. I am too. You and Jeff do a great job of getting both your students and the parents involved with the learning process. I always appreciate the little things you do to show love to the families of our church. You are modeling for these kids what it means to not only learn the truth but "do the truth." They won't forget it! And yes, you're right ... we can learn a lot from the children about loving others.

by the way i am loving this book!!!!
as far as assignments for our second graders we give them take home sheets with the scripture from the lesson and other things they need to know. this is a great way for the parents to get involved in what they are learning. if they bring these back the next sunday then they get a check mark which goes for a prize if they collect 12 which they get for attendance and bringing their bible. as far as predictable, our class and jeff's teaching is far from that. you never know what the kids may ask about the lesson. we just run with it. as long as they are staying within the boundaries of what jeff is teaching and the lesson.
we make cards for our homebound members and this teachers our kids to reach out to others, they love this. our little second graders have the biggest hearts they are salt and light for sure!!!! missy
